Entry: Captive at City!!! Friday, August 19, 2005

I'm writing this in London City airport. Was supposed to get the 10.00 flight up to Edinburgh, but it's been delayed by an hour!!  Grrr!!!!! There's nothing worse than being stuck at an airport if you're a frequent traveller, but at least there's internet access at this one, so I can waste a bit of time online (albeit at a cost of £1 per 10 minutes!). Hopefully the delay will JUST be the promised one hour, although in my experience these delays can often stretch and stretch and ...

There was thunder and lightning this morning, which is just the thing to settle your nerves when you're about to go flying -- particularly in a week when there have been 2 major air crashes!!!!!!

Oh well -- it's all part of the job!! I'd still rather fly to Edinburgh than make the slow trek by train, although if the delay increases, the train will probably make it there before me .......

last year i was stuck at the airport in Antalya airport, in Turkey for 2 hours and then an extra hour cos something went wrong with the plane so i went to the airport shops and saw a load of corny rubbish that was really expensive, then i went and read my lord of the shadows book and listened to some music.....thats the best thing to do in an airport shut out all the voices and get righ tin to a decent book

i've been on planes loads of times but the recent one i went one was last year when i was going to hong kong. every time we get on a plane i always say we are going to crash or somethings going to go wrong - and it DID!!
first our flight was delayed for about 2 hours for some reason, then once we got on the plane one of the engines broke so we had to wait even more, and it was raining by the time we took off.
i really wanted to get off of it but i was stuck sooo i just sat back and once we took off i watched some films and stuff. but for the whole 12 hours or more i didnt eat any thing because i hate plane food so i starved the whole trip. luckily i dont get plane sick - its strange because i dont get plane or car sick, some people say if you look down you get sick but i dont - so i read the 12th book of the saga of darren shan!
but i finished within the first few hours so i had nothing to do!! it was a boring flight, that could have crashed because of the engine!!!
